Siegfried Meir’s story is like something out of a fairy tale.
As a German Jew, he entered the first concentration camp when he was nine years old. His parents died while he was sent to another camp, Mauthausen, the Spanish Republican camp. There a young man of 30 years old, Saturnino Navazo, decided to adopt him in order to protect him and give him a new education.
The boy, knowing the effort made by his adoptive father, decided to dedicate his life to show him that it was worth saving him. And so he triumphed in the world of music as a singer and later as a businessman in Eivissa, until the death of his stepfather. With his death he lost the meaning of life.
Siegfried was then rescued by his friend Georges Moustaki, who helped him to face his past in order to continue living.
